Mentoring, Coaching and Supervision

Introduction to Supervision, Mentoring and Coaching for the teaching profession

One day ‘taster’ introductory events for teachers, run by the Centre for Supervision and Team Development in conjunction with Findhorn College

Please contact us for dates of future trainings.

The Centre for Supervision and Team Development has been running coaching and supervision courses for those in the helping professions for thirty years.

Research is increasingly showing that in all ‘people-focused’ professions, a place to share ideas, receive support and experience the “holding” given to others (pupils/clients/parents,etc ) leads to more job satisfaction and less burnout.

On this taster day we will look at

The importance of Continued Personal and Professional Development. Why taking care of ourselves is so important -- and paradoxically so difficult.

*Can we afford the time? Balancing space for ourselves with the demands of the job.
* What is the best way to take care of myself? Looking at the different options.

Basic skills of coaching, mentoring and supervision
•An understanding of group dynamics and systems as they relate to classrooms and school communities which will help teachers understand more about the context in which they work.
•A brief introduction to Appreciative Inquiry - how to find and build on the positive.
