Modules in development

Academic Outreach Report – June 2008

Summary of New Masters Programmes now in Development:

MSc in Transition to Sustainability (University of St. Andrews)
This groundbreaking collaborative masters programme will bring together four institutions that have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field of sustainable development: the St. Andrews Sustainability Institute at the University of St. Andrews, Schumacher College in Devon, the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales, and the Findhorn Foundation College. Anticipated Starting Date: September 2010

MSc in Sustainable Futures (Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen)

The primary academic partner for this masters programme will be the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture & Built Environment at The Robert Gordon University. A series of one–week residential modules will be delivered at the Findhorn ecovillage, some in collaboration with the Centre for the Study of Natural Design of the School of Design at the University of Dundee. Anticipated Starting Date: September 2009

MSc in Sustainability Studies (Moray College, UHI)
A programme in sustainability studies is being developed under the leadership of Moray College and in collaboration with all the partner institutions of the University of Highlands and Islands. Findhorn College will contribute at least one, possibly a whole series of optional modules to this course. Anticipated Starting Date: September 2010

MSc in Natural Design (University of Dundee)
The Centre for the Study of Natural Design (CSND), a small yet highly productive post-graduate research unit of the School of Design at Duncan of Jordanston College of Art and Design is in the process of creating this broadly transdisciplinary programme which will be partly based on the integrative approach to design for sustainability developed by Dr. Wahl during his PhD research at the CSND. Various residential modules will be taught at Findhorn College, both by resident and by CSND staff. Anticipanted Starting Date: September 2010
